Caledonian.—No. 2 shaft was opened and the wall in No. 1 level taken down, today. A great quantity of steam issued forth at first, but has now abated. There ia no indication of fire, but thetjground is still hot. • *agjjss Deep Level Cro?s.—The winze in the hangingwall leader is down 40 feet. The lode is four or five inches wide, and dabs of gold were seen last night. An excellent well mineralised sandstone country at 640 feet level.
