THE NATIVE LANDS COURT.

[by TELKGRArn.— O\YN* CORRESPONDENT.] Cambridge, Tuesday. Tile Tahia matter was discussed this morning. Dr. Buller said he bad nothing to add to the arguments he had previously advanced in favour of Taupo when Judges O Brieu and Williams occupied the Bench. The Chief Judge bad since expressed in Court liis intention of bearing the ease at Cambridge, and he presumed there were good and sufficient reasons for this. He was glad, however, of the delay, because it had enabled a number of his Taupo clients to be present to state their objections. Hahepa Tamamutn addrtssed the Court, and withdrew his application for a change of venue. Seven natives in succession opposed the hearing at Cambridge, on tho ground that the land abuts on the Taupo Lake, and Mr. Sheehan was heard on the other side. The Chief Judge said that the matter had caused him great anxiety. After full inquiry, aud very careful consideration, he bad come to the conclusion that the objections to Taupo outweighed those on the other side, although he attached no value to the petitions which had been sent in for and against each place. The Court bad decided to hear the case at Cambridge, but if any of the claimants should be unable to attend, by reason of age or infirmity, their interests would not be allowed to suffer.

Dr.Buller then proceeded with the Whakamaru ease, and two more witnesses were examined.
