THE THAMES-TE AROHA RAILWAY.
DEPUTATION TO MINISTERS. [from oof. own correspondent.] Wellington", Tuesday. A deputation from the Thames, headed by the Mayor of that town, waited on Mr. Walter Johnston, Minister of Public Works, and Mr. Rollcston, Minister of Lai.ds, today, in reference to the Thames-Te Aroha Railway. A long interview took place, but it was of a private character, and what passed has not transpired authoritatively, it being deemed advisable not to make the negotiations public until completed. I understand, however, that with regard to the wishes of the deputation relative to the terms of the contract uuder the Railway Construction and Land Act, ISSI, there is every reason to believe that these will receive the favourable consideration of tho Government. I hear that another conference will take place in a few days on the subject.
