Sailed yesterday : S.s. Hawea, for tbe North. During the passage of the Victor, the steward, a coloured man, and a native of St. Vincent, dropped dead in the cabin. He had been complaining a little previously. Tho Nelson has 34 ferrets on board for tho Government. TIMARU. December 17. — S.s. Kangaroo, from Westport; Waitaki, from Akaroa.
