LICENSING COURTS.

CITY EAST. The quarterly meeting of the City East Licensing Committee was he'd vosterdav, in the Police Court. Messrs. Chambers. Aickiii. Montague, and Harper presided. Mr. Dewcs applied tor a transfer of Wynyard Arms Hotel, corner of V.".-Unsley mid Symonds streets, from Henry Hopper Adams to William Hauiley. Mr. George applied for a transfer of the Swan [nil. Mechanics Bay, from John Adams, to Richard George. Mr. George also applied for a transfer of the Customhouse Hotel, Customhouse-street, from Kolaud Robert Campion to Charles Foster. >ergeant, White, on the part of the police, had no objection to any of the applications, anil the transfers were granted. Mr. George promised the Hunch that the Customhouse Hotel should be provided with fireescapes. In reply to an application made by Mr. James Russell, that the licence for the Provincial Hotel, Princes street, Bhould be allowed to lie changed to the old Provincial Ruildings, Shortland-street, the Bench said that residents in Shortland-street might object to the transfer. Mr. Russell, in making the application, said that it was proposed to purchase the site of the Provincial Hotel for an art gallery, and Mr. Gleeson would make the old Provincial Buildings suitable for a MOUNT WELLINGTON. A meeting of the Licensing Court of the District was convened on Tuesday, in the Panmure Public School-room. Present : — Mr. Stewart (chairman), Messrs. Fleming, T. Seaman (the clerk), and the Inspector. Owing to there not being a quorum, no business was transacted.

MOUNT ROSKILL. The meeting of the Licensing Court took place at Annidale Hall, yesterday. Present: —Messrs. Carr (in the chair), Buchanan, and Bollard, and Mr. T. Seaman (the clerk). The Inspector's report was favourable to the two hotels. Other business, with regard to polling the district, re the optional clauses, was transacted, and the date of enforcement will be duly announced. , ONE HUNG A. The quarterly fitting of the Onehunga Licensing Committee wai held iu the Courthouse on Wednesday. Present : Messrs. T. G. Blacker (chairman), J. Byeroft, C. C. Fleming, J. W. Jackson, and J. Robb. The police reports were satisfactory in all cases except one, against which house a conviction for Sunday trading had been obtained. Transfers were granted from E.
