TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB. A LAitfiKJ.T attended meeting of the stewards of the abovj club was held at the Masonic Hotel, North .Shore, last evening. Mr. E. \V. Alison occupied the chair, and after explaining the business for which the meeting was called, proposed "That the date fixed upon for the next meeting (January 29) be adhered to." Considerable discussion took place, several of the committee considering that it was not wise to clash with the Auckland liegatta Club. Others were of opinion that as the day had already been tixed upon, it would not be advisable to alter the date. Eventually, upon the vote being taken, it was decided to adhere to the original date. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the meeting.
