Ma.i.h: Tk Wheoko has held a meeting with the Whatiwhatihoc natives, to consider Judge Kenton's proposal in reference to the return of lauds to the W'aikatos. The old men and chiefs only were present. W'hititora was of op.nio.-i that no answer should be returned until the King returned from Kuwhia. To Wh-.-aro replied that Tawhiao having left him full charge to act as he thought proper, unless they agreed to proceed to see the lands he would wash his hands of the whole matter, 'ibis decided tiie meeting, and it was agreed that some twenty should go by new steamer to inspect the lands, on account of the various h-ipus. Te Wiieoro is now interviewing Mr. Kenton on the subject.
