Registration was unnecessarily deferred until the eve ol the sale, which gave rise to doubts about the title. Such doubts had, however, n< foundation, the title being under the Lam' Transfer Act. The YVhatupoko laud sol< freely at £12 10s to £21 per acre. Tin Pouawa land was .ihiefily withdrawn at tin up.-ict price, £'2. About 7.10 acres bold, ant free inijuiry was made to-day for the largei sections.
