ELECTION OF MAYORS.
* f.VTTH.TON. M:t. R. U'kiii: was elected Mayor of Lyttelton by HI") votes to l.'?l for the other candidate, "Mr. B. Weybourn. IiINKIHN'. The Mayoral election resulted as follows : —Mr. Thomson. 1127 ; Mr. Ross, 400. Considerable interest was taken in the election. HAMILTON. There was considerable excitement over the Mayoral election, especially towards the close of the poll, which was as follows : — Mr. Knox, 62; Mr. Peat, 57. ■\Ykstport. Mr. VV, R. Haseldcn was re-elected Mayor by a majority of one over Mr. John Carr. Mr. Win. M. Lloyd was the third candidate. I.NVi-fKCAIIUILL. The mayoral election resulted in the return of Mr. .John Kingsland, the numbers being : —Kingsland. 2<}!l ; J. L. McDonald, 21:!. Only about two-thirds of the electors voter 1. "
