FIRE IN PARK ROAD.

At 10 o'clock last :, ig'at the fire-bolls rang out an alarm, and shortly afterwards a glare of fire in the sky indicated that the fire was in the vicinity of the Provincial Hospital. On the Fire Brigade (under Mr. Superintendent Hughes) going out they found it wa3 at the stables and outbuildings of Mr. .T. C. MacCormick, Holicit/M-, i/:-.rk-road. It appears thtit at the above hour the neighbours gave the alarm, perceiving flames issuing from the top storey of the buildings. On going to suppress the fire it was found that the I buildings were looked up, as usual, and some delay occurred in offectine; an entrance. The most of the tools stored there were brought out, but, with the exception of the eastern wing, the whole of the buildings were destroyed. It is known that the fire occurred in the loft where some iiay was stored, but the origin of the fire is unknown. There was a washheuse with boiler in the block, but there had been no fire used since Monday last. JJy the efforts of the brigade the fire was confined to the buildings i;: which it originally broke out. Their i efforts were greatl}- aided by the ample j supplies of water which Mr. Mac'Jonnick ] had stored in various positions around his residence. The premises were insr.red for £'2i>o in the Uuion, but Mr. MacCorniick estimates the property destroyed at £400. The Salvage Corps, nnder Captain Butler, were present, as also a body of police under Mr. i'ardy.
