DESTRUCTIVE FIRE.

It .spread rapidly, and consumed, on the mn; side, Mr. Hampson's niiop and the jir-umis-js of Mr. Michael Duuuti'ij shop and furniture warehouse, t:; the corner of the street. On the other side, llr. Shepherd's old shop, Dawson Hall, Dawsou's Hotei, Gorbett (baker), Danks (hotel-keeper) and Colliiigs (bootmaker). It was checked at the right-of-way next to Mr. Dick's (butcher), who is safe. The insurances on the fire are :—lmperial: L&wson, £400; Rees McCorbeU, £100— total loss. Victorian : Findlay, £260; Collings, £756; Banks, £330—total loss. Standard : Collings, £200 ; Findlay, £200 ; Lawson, £500—total loss. New Zealand : Collincs, £350; Ching, £40; New Zealand and Standard divided : Globe Hotel, £100. Victoria : Bell, tobacconist, £100.
