OTAUUHU P. EPSOM. This match, played between the above clubs, on the Domain ground, on Saturday last, resulted in a narrow victory for Kp3om, who ouly played teu men iu the first innings of Otahuhu. The features of tho match were the wicket-keeping of Aitkeu (his first attempt in that diificulr. position), and the loug-stopping and batting of Nairn. None of the bjwlers had any chance of distinguishing themselves, the wicket played on being so rough and bumpy as to prevent anything like accurate bowling, indeed, the Otahuhu team were almost jast'diod iu saying that their own ground at Otahului was as good. Neither tam was playing ab its full strength, and the third match, fixed for the new year, will, we hope, sec the best men in both teams playing. Appended are the tcores :— ori.nom r .

ARMED CONSTABULARY /. CAUBKIDGE C O. [by TELEOr.AriI, OWN COUKESrOJTDB.NT.] Cambridge, Wednesday. A cricket match— Armed Constabulary against Cambridge Cricket Cl.ib —resulted on Saturday ia a victory to former, who won by 41 l'uus. WAIUKU V. TUAKAU AND BOMBAY. On Tuesday last, an eleven of the Waiuku Cricket Club left here for the purpose oi pi lying two matches—one with the Tuakru Club, and the other with the Bombay. Tho match with Tuakau was played on Tuesday. Waiuku, in their lirat innings, made 7S runs ; Tuakau, first innings, 32 runs ; second innings, IS runs ; WaiuUu thus winning in one inning? by 2S ruus. On Wednesday morning the Waiuku team went from Tuakau to Bombay, and played, returning home the same evening. Waiuku, in their (irat innings, made GO run 3; ljomViy, 50 runs ; and in their second innings, 17 run?, thus leaving Waiuku only S runs to win, which was done with the loss of one wicket. In reading the report of the match, which appeared in last Saturday's Wf.ek.ly JS'ews, I thought it was very incomplete, an regards the second innings. Toe totals were not carried out, and it would puzzle a Philadelphia lawyer to understand. The Waiuku team were very hospitably treated at bath, places, and 1 have no doubt the hospitality will be accorded to Tuakau and Bombay on the return matches.—[Own Correspondent, December Sth.] AUCKLAND V. UNITED CRICKET CLUB. Tho annual match of these club 3 will bo commenced on Saturday next on the Domain ground. It may be said this match, to tho Auckland tnind, causes something of the interest of the Albert and Warwick, of New South Wa'ei, and Oarltou and East; or West Melbourne, of Victoria, and from the great desire of the two clubs to briu>» tilsir greatest strength into the field, this season will prove no exception to the rule. As the teams are not yet published, thrir respective merits or demerits cjnaot well be conned, but, judging from hearsay, the United are the favourites ; still it should be a match, and, if the Auckland fall short, it will be more from waat of practice than actual talent. A cricket match will be played on tho Domain ground on Saturday next between the Standard aud West End Cluls.
