AGITATORS.
Sir, —The effects of the demagogue and ex-caiter Denis Kearney's violent agitation in San Francisco is showing itself in many ways. " During the year there was a decrease of 3,700,000 dollars in the Savings Bank depobits. The Bank of California reduced its capital stock from 5,000,000 dollars to 3,000,000 dollars; the Grangers' Bank ditto ditto from 5,000,000 dollars to 1,060,000 dollars. The land estate business has not beeu so dull in any year since 1863, when San Francisco had less than 100,000 people, as now with 300,000. On every hand we are threatened with litigation to grow out of the changes made inconsiderately by the ifjnoraut majority in the constitutional conviction. —I am, Ami stctmp.
