PONSONBY REGATTA CLUB.
A meeting of gentlemen interested in the promotion of a Regatta Club at Ponsonby met ou 2Gth February, at the Ponsonby Club Hotel, for the purpose of receiving the report of the committee appointed at a former meeting. There was a large and influential attendance, and Mr. J. Stoddart occupied the chair. He read the advertisement convening the meeting, and then read the report of the committee, and the rules which they had framed. The latter were discussed, and adopted seriatim, and with some amendments were adopted as a whole. Mr. John Stoddart was elccted treasurer, Mr. Taylor secretary, and Mr. W. Jones was appointed auditor. It was agreed that the committee should consist of Beven members. Twelve were proposed, and a ballot having been taken, the following gentlemen were elected :—Messrs. J. B. Graham, Gudgeon, W. J. Boylan, T. T. Masefield, H. W. Pierce, J. B. Morpeth, and J. Stoddart. On the motion of Mr. Masefield, his Worship the Mayor of Aucklaud, Mr. T. Peacock, was elected president of the club, and Messrs. D. £1. McKenzie (Chairman of the Harbour Board), W. Thorne (Chairman of the Ponsonby Highway Board), and Captain Harrison were elected vice-presidents. The Union Bank of Australia was selected as the clnb's bank, and the members' subscription was fixed at 10s Gd per annum. The colours chosen are blue and white. It was* agreed to hold the first regatta on Easter Monday, April 14. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the proceedings.
