POLICE COURT.—Friday.

[Before J. SI. Dargaville, Esq., J.P.] pitDNKENN'ESS.—Mary Burke was fined for this offence. She had been convicted of drunkenness forty-seven times. Again Remanded.—The native, Tohi, accused of stealing a horse, was brought before the Court and remanded to Thursday next upon the application of Sub-Inspector Pardy' who stated that the case would have to be heard before the Resident Magistrate. Non-sopport. — John Reilly was charged with failing to contribute to the support of his mother, as directed by order of the Court. The defendant, who is a strong, able-bodied young man, stated that be was a baker by trade, but had not had regular employment of late. Owing to this, he had been compelled to stop the payment of tho amount ordered by the Court. Ho was £6 in arrears. Believing Officer Graham stated that the defendant was working at a bakery in Newton, and earning good wages. The Court ordered him to pay £1 by Tuesday next or a distress warrant would be issued, and afterwards to pay as formerly ordered by the Court.
