ASSESSMENT COURT.
Mr, Barstow, R.M., Judge of Assessment Courts, held a Court at the Mount Hobson , school, yesterday forenoon, to hear objections ! against the valuation list for the district. I The clerk and valuer was in attendance in I support of the list. Mr. J. Dilworth objected I to the valuation of his property. It was assessed at £760, and he claimed that it was £297 too high. The valuer, however, proved the assessment roll, and Mr. W. Aitken, land agent, gave evidence to the effect that the valuation was not excessive. The objection was not sustained. Mr. J. Rutherford applied to have hia valuation reduced from £75 to £50. The reduction was agreed to and granted. Mr. C. C. McMillan objected to his valuation, on the ground that it was excessive, but as he did not appear to support the objection, it was not allowed.
