GREAT STORMS IN THE SEA OF MARMORA.
SINKING OF A FRENCH STEAMER —150 DROWNED. RIOTS IN ST. PETERSBURG. FLIGHT OF THE AMIR. Loudon, December 20. A great storm lias occurred in the Sea of Marmora. . A French steamer was sunk in a collision, when 150 persona were drovrned. There has been an agitation by the students in St. Petersburg in consequence of the change of classes. The military were called out, and dispersed the crowd. Many arrests were made, and vigorous measures adopted. A Liberal candidate has been elected by a great majority for the County of Derby. Bombay, December 21. General Brown hopes to occupy Jellalabad to-day. He reports the flight of the Amir is still current. It is stated that he left Yankoob Khan in power. London, December 20. At a meeting of the Sydney Committee it was stated that France had applied for an immense space in the Exhibition Buildings. The Chimborazo has arrived from Suez.
