Mr. MacCormick, secretary, read the former minutes. These were confirmed. The directors' report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. There was no mine manager's report; but Mr. Littlejohn, the late manager, being present, gave an oral statement, from which it appeared that but a small portion of the ground had been prospected; that the run of gold which enabled a dividend of £IS7 to be paid had run out; and that the efforts to drive upon another had been cut short for want of funds, when they were supposed to be within 10 feet of the spot, and that no work had been done since the ISth December ; that gold equal to 3 ozs. to the ton had been obtained from a small leader taken from a winze under the former management, to reach which it was desirable to continue the cross-cut he had commenced. A general discussion followed, from which it appeared that the company were at present in debt, but not in difficulties; that on the 12th just., provided the call made was paid, there would be £47 12s to their credit. Ou the election of directors, nine were named, and the poll declared in favour of Messrs. Crawford, McCade, Robinson, Chapman, and Wickham. Mr. R. M. Mitchell was elected auditor, and the chairman recei?ed the thar'ts of the meeting. Coromandel, Monday. From the Union Beach there is little to report. There has been no night shift during the last week, and only pumping is going on. j The Kapanga mine has stopped altogether for the present. Mining is flat.
