No bacon entered, nor Auckland made cheese or butter. Furniture dull of sale Mr. Dowden reports having had to-day a very large of poultry for sale at the 2 Markethouse. which realised good 3s to <s Id each; fowls. Is 3d to 2s 7d each: ducks, -a to ftj 9d each; Brahmas, 5s each. Trade during the week has been quiet, and prices generally remain unaltered since our summary issue for the mail. In liquors a quiet tone prevails, and no transactions worthy of record have come under notice. Teas are unusually dull, considering the recent advent of the n.,w crop, aud great difficulty is experienced in doing trade at rites sought for. There has been a little' more activity in sugars, but business has been completely unsettled through the recent action of the colonial sugar companies. Transactions in candles have been effected during the week at 103 d. which is about the ruling figure now. Hops have been a little more active, owing to recent advices from home, but no advance iu rates has yet been effected ; aline of Nelson changed hands yesterday at Is 2d. Kerosene has been sold during tho week as low as Is Gd, in bond. Tobaccas continue flat. Of the 1200 casks of American salmon recently placed on the market, nearly the whole quantity has passed out of first hands, business being done during the week at 12a. Salt is enquired for, and is quoted at £5. Notwithstanding the heavy stocks of Southern flour on hand, we hear of sales having been made to arrive of Brown and Sons' and Bowie's brands at £14: as low as £13 is, however, quoted for Southern brands. Potatoes Bold to-day as high as £7. Southern oats are in moderate supply, and worth ss. For maize the quotation is now 5s 3d; yesterday 250 bags changed hands at ss. Prime butter is scarce, but middling and inferior in large supply ; Is 2d is about the ruling figure. Cheese is worth SJd, and hams and bacon, lid. Bran remains unaltered—ls 6d.
