CITY WEST No. 1 PUBLIC SCHOOL.
To the Editor of the Herald. Sie, —X perceive in your account of the late meeting at t-lie Mechanics' Institute, th&t Mr» Staines is reported to have said: " A poor woman cam© to his house that morning, who stated her little boy was turned out of Air. Brabazon's school because she was not able to get him a pair of shoes." If the poor woman in question would take her complaint to the proper tribunal, the school committee, instead of unbosoming herself to ilr. fetaines, who is already sufficiently burdeued with public cures, she would have a much better chance of having matters put right. I think I may aafeiy say (in the event of the alleged complaint being substantiated), on behalf of myself and fellow committee-men, that such grievance would not only be investigated but redressed. —I am, &c., A Meilbeb or School Coiesutiee, City "West No.l. Hay 20, 1873.
