RESIDENT MINISTER FOR AUCKLAND
Db. Pollen will, it appears, be officially appointed resident Minster iu Auckland. On the estimates there was a blank left for the sum opposite " Agent for the Government, Auckland." When this portion of the Estimates was under discussion, an Auckland member asked why the space for this sum was left blank, and Mr. Stafford replied that " while Dr. Pollen remained as Minister, no payment to an agent would be required."
