SIr.WYKN to movo, Thar, thin Council is of opinion that thu petitioner, Ptter Grace, is outitled to have tho plant of which he w:is deprived, returned to him, and, in the event of this being impracticable, that ho should bo fairly compensated for auuh portion thereof as may havo been disposed of, or in any way havo disappeared. Mr. Wtnn to move, 1, That thie Council is of opinion that nny change in the form of Government in the Uolony «f New Zealand, as regards the Province of Auckland, should be based on tho principle of separation of the Northern and Southern portions of the Colony. 2. That a respectful address be presented to Ida Honor the Superintendent, requesting him to forward a copy of the above resolution to his Kxcellencv tho Governor, with a. view to its submission to the (Jenorul Assembly. OJiDiB OV TUB BAY. Adjourned debate on the question, That with a view to the diminution of- tho city rules, all licence fees lovied within tho precincts of tho city of Auck-1-ind ought to be paid over to the uses of the City Board.
