This claim wns for one canoe, £20 ; 100 jngs, £150 ; thrashing nrnchine, £150; r.hare in mill at Pokeno, £50 ; boxes, boiler?, oven, mullet net, &c. Claimant that he lived at Waiulcu before the war. Government ordered 'aim to leave hia place. fJo could not take the things away. The canoe was a new one. By Blr. Soardoiari: Tho canoe was his own. property ; bought it at the Waiksto a year bsf.ire the war. The piga were about hia placa. Did not charge for little ones. Iho thrashing machine bolonged to asveral people; mimes given ; four of them are dead. Mr. (J. O. Davis's brother bought it for them three years before the war. It was left in. a house when they left their plase. He could not fetch it away. Has seen it sinca. Mr. nonstable took it, >ind now his it. It is being repaired. The same general statement wits made ae to of loss, viz., tbat Government told him to leave his placu, a short distance froii Waiufcu, ami to go to the latter place, and could not take his thinys with him.
