DEMAND FOR LOCAL CAMPS.
PREPARING FOR SECOND DIVISION.

The committee of the Canterbury Industrial Association passed the following motion to-night: "That in view of the first ballot for the Second Division being taken within the next three months, it is einperative, in fairness to the men belonging to this division, ami to prevent, as far as possible, the dislocation of business, and to minimiso the industrial disorganisation, that local or trying-out camps should be established, so that no man should be obliged to give up his business, or his situation, until absolutely sure that when sent to Trentliam lie would not lie turned down as medicallv unfit,"
That the position be placed before the Efficiency Board, with a request that the board go into the matter and recommend the Government accordingly.
