NEW ZEALAND MILITARY TOURNAMENT. (BY TELEGRAPH.) Wellington, October 13.
The executive of the New Zealand Military Tournament, which will tako place here oo the 7th and Oth of Noveni ber, have decided to extend the date for closing of entries until noon on .Saturday, the 24th inst., this being done at the urgent request of » number of corps whose headquarters are At a distance. Entries from th« crews of Her Majesty's warships do not clone before the 6th, or a couple of days after the vessels tiro expected here. Upwards of 300 entries for the various events have been received up to Saturday night, and it is expected that the number will be Increased to fully 600. Among the entries are those of Wuiroa Mounted Rifles, Marlborouqh Hussars, Heretaunga Mounted Infantry, Waiuku Cavalry, Napier, Lyttelton and Wellington Artillery, Wellington City and Napier Rifles, the Permanent Artillery, Wellington Guards, Napier, Wellington and Potone Navals, the Canterbury Mounted Rifles, and the Otago Hussars. Several other corps have intimated their intention of competing. Visitors will be entertained at a social and dance on Monday, tho Oth November.
