Taipa W.I.

The November meeting of the Taipa W.I. was held at Cable Bay. The President, Mrs. A. Garton, presided and welcomed members. After the aspirations were read and business was discussed the President gave an enjoyable talk about Shivaram, the Hindu dancer whom she saw perform at Kaitaia. After the competitions had been judged arrangements were made for our hall building fund sale which is to be held at Cable Bay on December 9th. There will be a drapery stall, cake and sweet stall and vegetable stall, and games and amusements for all. A cordial welcome is extended to all and any gifts will be welcome. The winners of the competitions were : An Xmas gift Mesdames Adamson, J. Garton, Meenan, Leckner and May equal 5 points ; Pikelets— Mesdames Adamson and Meenan 5 ; Juniors—Pat Leckner 4 and 4. Mrs. J. Garton won the lucky number and Mrs. Packard was presented with a spray for her birthday.
