FIRST CENTURY IN JUNIOR CRICKET TO D. ARCHIBALD The Nomads Junior eleven registered a fine performance at the Valley ground on Saturday when they defeated Mangataiore outright. Doug Archibald had a field day. Going in No. 7 in the batting order, he scored a great 122 not out, the highest score of any batsman this season. Contributing largely to Archibald’s success was the eleven runs scored by B. Knightbridge. He scored these runs while Archibald made 96. Other juniors to show good form were T. Hoddle with 38 runs as opening j batsman, and young C. Wilson. Total j score was 197 for nine wickets de- j dared. Bevin Switzer and T. Kitchen shar- 1 ed the wickets for Mangataiore. Mangataiore scored 30 in their first innings. Brockbank was top scorer i with 14 not out. P. Masters captur- j ed five wickets and D. Archibald four. | They fared better in their second knock, scoring 82 runs. D. Archibald bowled really well for five wickets.
