Wedding

VEZA LUNJEVICH At St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Herekino, last Tuesday, Violet Nellie Lunjevich and Clarence Joseph Veza were joined in holy matrimony by Father A. Zangerl. The bride’s beautiful veil was a gift from an uncle at present in America. Her frock was of satin beaute with a white lace bodice and a beaded back, while the train was trimmed with pleated tulle. Bishop sleeves tapered to a point over the fingers. The bride wore three strings of pearls to match the pearls on the coronet. (She carried a sheath of Christmas lilies, roses, gladioli, sweet pea and maiden-hair fern. The bridesmaids, Misses Elsie Nola, Rita Urlich, Maisie Curreen and Norma Curreen, all wore pale mauve, long-waisted focks with rows of pin tucks across the front and buttons down the back. The head-dresses were of deeper tonings of tulle clasped with flowers of deeper- shades. The V necklines were set off with brooches of a deeper shade. All the bridesmaids wore crosses. Their bouquets comprised deeper tonings of stock, gladioli, sweet pea and maiden-hair fern. The bestman was Mr. Steve Lunjevich, the groomsmen Messrs. Walter, Ivan and Frank Lunjevich. Mrs. Lunjevich, the bride’s mother, wore an attractive ensemble of grey crepe with a spray of red roses and wore black accessories, while the bridegooom’s mother wore a dress of teal green with white accessories and a white spay. Seventy-five guests later attended the reception in the A. and P. Hall, Kaitaia. A long toast list was honoured. Mr. W. Hales was toastmaster. In the evening a dance was held ir. the Herekino Hall in honour of the bridal couple. Dancing was enjoyed to the music of the Versatile Orchestra with Mr. Ashmore as m.c. Tw 0 Maori war songs were rendered by Ron, Ken and their sister, Doris Curreen. A very tasty supper added to the evening’s enjoyment. The bridal couple left by car for their Honeymoon to be spent in Auckland and south, Mrs. Veza travelling in a grey costume with black accessories.
