AWANUI NEWS
Awanui Cruising Club The members turned up in full force to the meeting of the Awanui Cruising Club held at Mr. A. O. Vazey’s residence last Monday evening, showing that interest in boating is still keen among local enthusiasts. Several letters were received from Auckland Clubs asking the club to send crews to compete in Auckland regattas, but after discussion it was decided that this year the club would send a crew down for the sailing dinghy event only. Mr. R. A. Johnston gave a very instructive and interesting talk on “propellors,” illustrating the different types with small wooden scale models. Several members reported on their boat building activities. Mr. Herring has commenced a new boat and Commodore Vazey expects to have his boat in the water before Christmas. The elub will enter two boats in the Mangonui regatta.
