Ten years ago this month : Mr. J. T. B. Taaffe brought from Auckland this week one of the latest model Grahame care for use in his business. Holder and Johnstone, local Ford dealers, have on show the latest model Ford tourer, called the “New Beauty.” The census for the Mangonui County, including Maoris, was 7,161. “Ned Wilkinson, prominent in local football last season, is now playing for Ponsonby seniors, a crack Auckland team.” Jackie Coogan starring in “Little Robinson Crusoe” at the Northland Pictures. _ TABLE TENNIS MEETING At the inaugural meeting of the new Kaitaia Table Tennis Club there was a disappointing attendance. However it is hoped that the Club will have a membership of approximately 50. Doubt still exists as to the headquarters of the Club and the best, evenings for playing. Officers elected were : Patron—Mr. L G. Thompson ; President—Mr. W. Stringer ; Vice-Presidents Messrs. _E. Clarke and H. Findlay ; Secretary and Treasurer-—Mr. C. Hoskin ; Committee Miss R. Dadson, Miss M. Lamb,-Messrs. E. Kay, L. Price, R. Perry. Since the general meeting was held, the Committee has arranged to hold the opening night next Tuesday, 28th May, in the A. and P. Hall. Play will take place weekly on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights throughout the season. Intending members are requested to attend the opening night and to bring sandshoes along with them.
