PAPONGA WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

The monthly meeting of the Paponga Women’s Institute was held on July 9, at the residence of Mrs. J. Dyer (President) who also presided over the meeting, which opened with

the Institute Prayer, followed by the Aspirations. Two new members, Mrs. and Miss Grayson were welcomed. It was decided that parcels should be sent to all local boys overseas twice a year. Thirty-six ounces of wool for soldiers was knitted during the month. The thought for the month was given by Mrs. Maxwell, “Those who bring Sunshine into the lives of others canI not keep it from themselves.” The Roll Call, hints on growing Antirrhinums, proved very interesting, The social competition was given by Mrs Dyer, and won by Mrs. Maxwell. A dainty afternoon tea brought the meeting to a close.
