DANCE AT WAIHARARA
A most successful dance was held at Waiharara on Saturday by the Waiharara Branch of the Labour Party, there being a large number present. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss N. Heath and Mr, T. Dragecivich. The prizes for the hat waltz went to Miss Udah and Mr. J. Kosivich, and the confetti waltz to Miss M. Salle and Mr. C. lloggard. Hobson’s orchestra supplied the music. Mr. E. Wattridge won the competition. Supper was served by the committee during the evening. At a meeting held at Waiharara on Saturday, a branch of the N.Z. Workers Union was formed, the following officers being eltcted : President—Mr. T. Dragecivich Vice-President—Mr. L. Luceitich Secretary-Treasurer—Mark Hoggard Committee—Messrs W. Johnson, C. Hoggard, N. Jameson, J. Collins, P. Haggar.
Caterpillars have again made their appearance in various parts of the district's they did last autumn but so far they have not caused so much damage to crops and grasses as last year. A well attended meeting of the M.U. 1.0.0. F. lodge was held last Tuesday when preliminary arrangements were discussed for a dance to be held at Fairburn at an early date.
