Benefit Ficture for Hospital on Christmas Night

On Christmas Night in the Princess Theatre, Kaitaia, the oratorio “Messiah” will be given. It is rendered by the Royal Choral Society of London, in which the massed orchestra contains fifty-five members, this being conducted by Mr. Thomas Beecham. The Grand Organ also takes a prominent part in th programme. There are 500 voices in the Choir. The four principals are Herbert Eisdell (Tenor), Howard Williams (Baritone), Muriel Brimskill (Contralto) and Dora Labbette (saprano). This particular rendering of the Messiah is considered to be the finest ever recorded, the scene of the recording being in the Central Hull, Westminster, London. The recording will go through the talking machine and music lovers who have copies of the Messiah are advised to have them on hand that evening. The nominal charge will be 1/-, 25% of the gross takings being given to the Hospital.
