COUNTY ENGINEER’S REPORT
The following report of the works in the County was presented to the last meeting of the County Council by the County Engineer, Mr. R. E. Torrie : Since last meeting of the Council I have been concentrating on road surveys for 11.W.D. Grants and the most important ones ares are now completed and forwarded for approval. Authorities
base been received for Cloughs Road Mungatoetoe Road, Owhata Road, Snelgars Road, Spains Road, Pubata Road Gills Road, Roma Road. The following plans and specifications have been approved —Parauui RoadTekore Road, Vezas Bridge. I have made a survey of a proposed deviation through Gibson’s property to give access to Braithwaite s section. The road is on a good location, being practically straight and of even grades. The amount of grant if authorised should he sufficient to form culvert and metal the worst places. Mr. Hooper has the necessary land plan survey in hand. The contractor is making good progress with the filling approaches of Christensen’s Bridge and should have a skin of metal on before the holidays. Maintenance work is being carried out on Main Highways and the condition of road surfaces is very good at present.
