The proprietors of ‘Smith’s Weekly’ have a permanent course over which new ears are tested, and when the latest Ford V 8 was put through its paces the performance was remarkable. Following are the points allowed the Ford on the test, the Ideal Car points being in parentheses : Slow running, 8 (10); acceleration, 111 (10); maximum speed, 12 (10); flexibility, 81 (10); hill climb, 9 (10); petrol, 9 (10) ; brakes, 8J (10) ; springing, 8 (10); rolling, 10 (10); steering, 4 (5); silence, 4 (5). Total, 92 h (100).
