Waiharara Domain

To the County Council Council when sitting as the Waiharara Domain Board Cr. Steed reportod as follows on work carried out on the Domain: I called tenders for the clearing of the motor cycle track. In all, seven tenders were received ranging from £2 10/- to £5. I accepted the tender of Joseph Yelavich for £2 10/-. The work has been carried out to my satisfaction. I also engaged Joseph Yelavich for one day at 10/- per day to repair shed,-fence, and gateway also to place in the shed 15 posts, a quantity of wire and timber, so that same can be kept under lock and key. A new pair of hinges and screws were necessary for the shed door, those I purchased costing 1/-. Also new padlocks costing 4/- and two pieces of chain for 1/6.

The Domain is now fairly securely fenced and I would suggest that if in the event of any cattle being found on the enclosed area of the Domain without permission that the poundkeeper be instructed to impound same. I would further suggest that tenders be invited for the grazing rights of the Domoin for a period of twelve months. After hearing the report Councillors complimented Cr. Steed on the able manner in which he had carried out the work in connection with the Domain and the Council decided to call for teuders for the gaazing rights of the Domain.
