Reminder To Players

Owing to weather conditions the friendlv game between Kaitaia and Awanui had to be postponed last Saturday, and the players who rolled up carried on with a practice game. Next Saturday will see the commencement of the first round of the association’s competition. The roller has been put on the local ground, which it is anticipated will be in tip-top order.

The - first fixtures are as follows : —Kaitaia v Victoria Valley at Kaitaia; Mangonui v Broadwood, at Broadwood; Herekino r. bye.

The Kaitaia first eleven for Saturday’s game will be drawn from the following : —C. Werner, W. Dale, N. Matthews, E. Panther, H. Dunn, H. Gunson, W. Lawson, W. Prosser, A. McKenzie, M. Gallagher, J. Churton, 1. Matthews. The 2nd. eleven will travel to Victoria Valiev. Home teams are asked to extend to visiting players'the common courtesy of being on the ground sharp on time, and in future the 10 o’clock starting rule is to be rapidly enforced. A further trophy has been donated by Mr. T. S. Houston, who has given a bat for the season’s highest average. Players are reminded that practices are held every Tuesday and Thursday even ; ng, and those who expect consideration both as to places in the teams and the trophies given for the season would do well to remember that their practice or lack of it will be reflected in their play in the competitions.
