Presbyterian Church Bazaar

A Successful Event

The Presbyterian Bazaar held yesterday in the Kaitaia Presbyterian Hall was a great success and the workers were well rewarded for their efforts. Favoured with ideal weather the Kaitaia public turned out well and quite a number of visitors were present from the surrounding district. The following ladies were in charge of the various stalls : Sweets —Mesdames Bisset and Houston. Cake—Mrs Munn and Miss Logan. Drapery—Mesdames A Logan and A G Bell. Produce —M esdaraes John Clarke and H Foley. Fish Pond —Miss Sturmfels.

The afternoon-tea was in the capable hands ot Mesdames Gearil, Rowe, B Ramsey and Hicks.

Owing to Mrs Pellow’s unavoidable absence through illness Mrs J Dawson ably filled the capacity of secretary. During the evening the reading of a play entitled “Maker of Dreams,” by Rev. Naylor, Mr. Walker, and Miss J. Whitefield was greatly appreciated, Mr. J. Paulson’s recitation was also well received.

Nail-driving and sawing competitions were also indulged in. The Presbyterian Church funds will benefit by the sum of £37 as a result of yesterday’s venture.
