Peria.
(From a Correspondent.) On the 28th iust., in response to invitations issued by Mr. and Mrs. G. Thomas, a number of guests assembled to celebrate the twenty-first birthday of Miss Minnie Thomas. (Iwing to the threatening aspect of the weather many were prevented from coming, but all those who attended spent a most enjoyable evening. After the supper adjournment, Mr. Miller, in a brief but happy speech congratulated Miss Thomas on attaining her majority and wished her many happy returns of the day. Mr. G. Thomas briefly responded. During the evening songs were rendered by Mrs. Garton and Messrs. Garton and Thomas and a Highland Fling was danced in good style by Mr. Tothill. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mr. C. ( hristensen and was all that could be desired. The party broke up after midnight and another pleasant memory was added to the past.
