(From our Own Correspondent.) On Monday, 10th December, Mrs. W. A. Irwin died after a long and painful illness The funeral took place on Wednesday, and was attended by a large crowd of people from far
and near. The deceased lady was very popular with everyone and is greatly missed by her many friends here. Mr. W. A. Irwin has the heartfelt sympathy of all. Yesterday the Pelotas wus towed by the s.s. Ohinemuri '• to Whangaroa, where she (the Pelotas) will go under more repairs. Last Thursday the barquentine St. Kilda was towed in partly loaded with timber from Aoroa. She finishes loading here for Newcastle and expects to leave again shortly. A committee lias Wen formed to get up sports after the Xmas and New Year holidays. Tt is the first attempt of its kind. We hope it will be a success as it will liveu the place up somewhat.
