CHARTS HANDED OVER SAFE PASSAGE TO SINGAPORE (Rec. 11.0 a.m.) London, Aug. 29. Japanese envoys will be brought from Singapore to give the two task forces of the British East Indies Fleet information enabling a safe passage down Malacca Strait to Singapore, says Reuter’s correspondent. They will be brought to Penang and Sabang, where the task forces are now anchored. The British warships will sail for Singapore after the formal signing of the surrender. A Tokio message says Japanese liaison officers who boarded H.M.S- Nelson at Penang and H.M.S. London at Sabang, handed over charts of Japanese minefields. The Japanese guaranteed security to the task forces in the harbours and coastal waters. '
