RUSSIAN FLAG OVER PORT ARTHUR
SOVIET TROOPS CHEERED (Rec. 9.15 a.m.) Moscow ,Aug. 29. “Izvestia” said the Russian navy flag has been hoisted over Port Arthur and the Red Army and Navy have taken over the city. The Japanese Admiral Kabaiasa revealed the conditions of the base and location of mines. Local inhabitants, Koreans and Chinese, cheered the Soviet troops. MORE TROOPS SURRENDER (Rec. 9.15 a.m.) Ne w York, Aug. 29. Japanese totalling 2400 surrendered at Mili in the Marshall group of islands, and 8000 at Morotai, in the Moluccas.
