EXPERIMENTS WITH D.D.T.
CONTROL OF INFANTILE PARALYSIS New York. Aug. 28 A visiting scientist, Dr. Pawl Muller, who invented £>.D T. said experiments for the control of infantile paralysis through D D.T. were promising, though the transmission of germs was not entirely due to insects. He added that the goal was the elimination of all diseases transmitted by insects, especially malaria and typhus. It was possible to completely control flies and mosouitoes throughout the world. D D.T. was not dangerous, but it killed bird whicih ate insects poisoned hv it. Apparently it was impossible to kill fish by D.D T Dr. Muller added that experiments were at present being carried out to attack insects not affected by D.D T. and render D.D.T. harmless to useful insects.
