PRICE OF WHEAT
REPRESENTATIONS BY INDUSTRY (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) Wellington. This Day. Representatives of the wheat industry waited on the Prime Minister and other Ministers of the Crown yesterday to discus? wheat prices. Subsequently, the Minister of Industrie? and Commerce (Mr Sullivan) stated that after a case had been Dresented for a flat rate of 7s Id a bushel for this season and alternative proposals for the following Reason the Prime Minister inthnated that the r°nre?entations that had been made would be considered by Cabinet and he hoped a decision would be reached in the verv immediate future. The meeting took olace in accordance with the intimation given in the House of Representatives last week bv Mr Sullivan. Besides the Prime Minister and Mr Sullivan, the Minister of Finance (Mr Nash), the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Roberts) a nd the members of the Stabilisation Commission were present, also Messrs H. F. Niooll, chairman of United Wheat Growers, L. J. Schmitt, deputy-chairman of the wheat committee, W. W. Mulholland, president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. Alan Grant, H. Worrall, and Canterbury members of Parliament.
