ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
AIR FORCE TEAMS MEET Two Air Force teams met in an Association football match at Victory Square on Saturday. Basic School defeating Engine School by four goals to nil. The teams were:— Basic School: Kenny, McGrory, McKay. Sykes. Rowlands, Mujlholland, Gifford, Wilson, Marsh, Martin, Me-. Ilroy. Engine School: Swail, Illesley, Pomeroy, Crouper, Morris, Fisher, Phillips, Wills, Hitchcock, Hoggard, Anderson. Engine School kicked off and even plTay, followed for a period until Marsh. Wilson and Martin combined in a passing rush, and Marsh beat the goalie with a fast shot. Basic School then attacked, Fisher making some good openings, but Hitchcock’s shot went over the bar. The half-time score was, Basic School 1, Engine School 0. Upon resumption Basic School took up the running and from a centre by Mcllroy, Sykes secured and gave Kenny no chance of saving. Basic kept up the attack, but Martin shot just wide of the goal. From the kick out Marsh returned from the half-way line and the ball just skimmed under the bar for a fine goal. Another fast movement by the Basic forwards saw Wilson put in a cross shot which deceived Kenny and entered the goal in the far corner.
