GOLDEN BAY SUB-UNION
REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS SELECTED The recently re-formed Golden Bay Rugby team suffered defeat in its first match with Collingwood by 14 points to 3. The game resolved itself into a struggle between the home forwards and the Bay backs. For the winners tries were scored by J. Flbwers (2>. M. Hickmott and N. ,fV ßiley, one being converted. J. Ward kicked a penalty goal for Bay. The following team was selected to represent Golden Bay sub-union >n a match against ‘Motueka at Takaka on Saturday. B. Ward J. Flowers, J. Ward. M. Hickmott, D. Mason, A. Polglase, Pomeroy, G. Woolf, L Courtney. J. Wigsell. A. Taylor (capt.) W. Mitchell, L. Hunter C. Walker, E. Riley. Emergencies : N. Riley, R. Prince, R. Hunter. T. Tairoa. Old Boys B. making their first appearance in the junior competition, were defeated by Collingwood by 11 points to 3. A Possibles v. Probables match was also played and the following team selected to represent Golden Bay in a match with Motueka, at Motueka. on Saturday:— B. Nichols. B. Giblin. J. Ellery, F. Fellowes. J. Park. D.
