HUIA DEFEAT UNITED in the senior Rugby match played at Rugby Park on Saturday, Huia gained the decision over United by 14 points to six With’n four minutes of the kick-off United were penalised and B. Fry kicked a good goal to open Huia’s account. A forward rush by Huia was held up and from the resultant scrum the backs swung into line for Lunn to send on to Shuker, who scored wide out. Shuker also added the extra points.—H ;ia 8; United 0 United attacked and pushed play to their opponents’ twenty-five. Huia were penalised and Warner was successful with the kick. After half-time the Huia backs went away in a passing rush. Fry, Thorp and Lunn taking play to near the corner flag. From a line-out Knapp secured and dived over. Masters was safe on defence and cleared smartly for United to attack. Bisley failed to stop the rush and Ryan, picking up, ran through to score a trv. The final points of the game came when Huia swept through for Bisley to score near the corner.—Huia 14; United 6. Mr H. Rangi was the referee.
