BATTLESHIP’S BOWS BUCKLED STORY NOW RELEASED The British battleship. King George V.. sliced His Majesty's ship Punjabi in half, right through the engineroom. Only a handful of the destroyer's complement ot 190 survived. The battleship. with her bows buckled, went to Liverpool and was squeezed into Gladstone Dock with only inches tP spare. The secret was closely kept because Britain’s battleship position was then serious. The whole Eastern Mediterranean Battle Squadron of the Barham. Queen Elizabeth and Valiant, had been sunk or damaged.
