NEW AGREEMENT SUGGESTED VIEWPOINT OF FARMERS’ UNION Wellington. This Day The Dominion executive of- the New Zealand Farmers’ Union yesterday adopted a resolution recommending to the meeting of the Farmers’ Federation to he held next week that consideration be Riven to the entering into of a new stabilization agreement with the Government provided that: (a) The Government gives adequate pledges that the new agreement will be faithfully carried out, and that it makes the new agreement effective bv Act of I’arlvnment. (M That farmers’ prices he brought into line in order to preserve the r pr vious relative position with other sections of the community. Tne runners’ Federation. adds the resolution, should also indicate that in the legislation adequate provision should be made to have the issue of currency and credit by the Reserve Bank immediately restricted and subsequently placed under effective independent control. . If a suitable new agreement with the Government can be armed at. the Farmers’ Union executive is prepared to give the Government flu* utmost possible support in implementing it.
