CONVICTION ENTERED

YOUTH IN THE NELSON COURT

In the Magistrate’s Court this morning Nelson Ronald Joyce came before Mr T. E. Maunsell, S.M., for sentence on a charge that, without lawful excuse, but in circumstances that did not disclose the commission of or intention to commit any other offence, he was found in the ‘enclosed yard of George R. Jansen, Riverside. Accused had pleaded guilty on Saturday. Sergeant J. R. Corston said that since Saturday, the police had been in contact with a friend of accused and had found that accused did have a boat ticket as he had stated, and it was his intention to leave by tonight’s boat. The friend was helping accused and was trying to find him employment in Wellington. Accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon.
